Awe-Inspiring Workspaces: Hype or Worth Investing?

Investing in work environment can pay huge dividends, increasing employees’ happiness and productivity.

Companies and financial institutions receive many benefits from investing in their workspaces, including achieving better employee retention and a more positive work culture. Today’s work environment also plays an important role in business development: a highly functional, ergonomic design can help attract the best employees and strengthen employee morale, thereby inspiring productivity. Many financial institutions believe their organization is not effective or only somewhat effective in developing leaders who can keep up with the workplace’s rapid pace of change.

According to a study from The Ohio State University and the National Institute of Mental Health, the work environment significantly affects employees’ health by raising or decreasing stress levels. These are associated with substantial economic consequences, including increased absenteeism, increased worker turnover, decreased job satisfaction, and associated decreases in productivity. As Carson Tate, author of Work Simply, says, investing in your work environment can pay huge dividends in increased productivity and employees’ happiness.

“If the space you work in isn’t set up to optimize workflow, your workers are going to end up expending a lot more time and energy to get that work done,” says Tate.

Having a boring, and unfulfilling workspace can drain employees’ energy and cause them to feel uninspired. Old-school, static, and plane offices are no longer an option for growing companies that want to attract and retain a dynamic workforce. Workers demand more.

In fact, the Fellowes Workplace Wellness Trend Report found out that employees want to work in a healthy environment. Eighty-seven percent of surveyed workers would like their current employer to offer healthier workspace benefits like sit-stands, wellness rooms, better lighting, and ergonomic seating. Ninety-three percent of workers in the tech industry said they would stay longer at a company that would offer this kind of healthier workspace benefits.

This is something that we are aware of at Veret Company, and that’s why we help banks transform their corporate, retail branches, and workspace, in order to maximize their productivity and build a positive and healthy environment. We provide design expertise spanning a wide range of industries. Our team reimagines the approach to creating spaces focused on innovation, uniqueness, and effective performance, to transform aspirations into ground-breaking environments.
